The Revd Penny Graysmith
Rector of St Peter Port
Penny grew up in England.
She studied theology at the Universities of Durham and Cambridge before ordination as a Deacon in 1989.

After a curacy in Leicester she became Parish Deacon and part time hospital chaplain in Cannock. Whilst there, in 1994, she was one of the first women to be ordained priest in the Church of England.
​
She became a whole time hospital and hospice chaplain in 1996 until she moved to Guernsey in 2017. In 2020, whilst she was Prison Chaplain in the island, Penny made local history by becoming the first woman to be appointed Vice-Dean in Guernsey. She took up her post in Town Church in March 2023.
Penny is married to Peter. They have two adult children and a dog. She likes to sing, laugh, collect sea glass, paint pottery, holiday in France and enjoy the company of friends.
