On the 9th May this year, Deputy Lyndon Trott OBE and Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq representing the States of Guernsey, and Mayor Norbert Zeidler representing the Town of Biberach an der Riß, Germany, formally signed a Framework of Friendship. The arrangement is based on the model of a town twinning but has been adapted to reflect the unique relationship between Guernsey and Biberach.

The Framework of Friendship, aims to strengthen the cultural, social and educational links between Guernsey and Biberach, ensuring that future generations continue to learn from and engage with the communities' shared history. Through this arrangement, both administrations have committed to promoting mutual understanding, encouraging student and cultural exchanges, and supporting joint commemorations and civic initiatives that reflect the values of peace, reconciliation and co-operation.
