Birds and their song have captivated poets and composers throughout history, inspiring music ranging from serene pastoral reflections to powerful allegories of the human condition.

The programme will include compositions by old favourites such as Byrd, Weelkes and Stanford, together with the bright new colours of today’s composers including Bingham, Marsh and Panufnik, culminating in the Guernsey première of Lucy Walker’s brand-new suite of partsongs, Bird Raptures.
