Hallowe'en - All Hallows' Eve

Time & Location

31 Oct 2023, 17:30 – 18:30

Town Church, Church Square, Guernsey GY1 2JU, Guernsey

About the event

Next Tuesday is Hallowe’en (The eve of All Saints’ Day)

'Hallows' is an ancient word for saints.

Lots of shops will be open to give sweets to children who will be dressed up for hallowe’en instead of going out trick or treating.

The church will be open and candlelit and we will be offering people Soul Cakes (a traditional Medieval biscuit that was given to people who, on that day, visited houses offering to pray for families and their loved ones).

There will also be information about how the church recalls Christ being the light of the world. There will be the chance to light a candle.
